The American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) is creating an Oral History Archival Collection of interviews of Persons who have significantly contributed to the field of Information Science. Jacques Tocatlian was invited to be part of this international collection and was interviewed on September 26, 2012.
Why this oral history matters
The ASIS&T interview preserves Jacques Tocatlian’s account in his own voice and places it within an international archive of people who shaped information science. Oral histories add something that dates and titles cannot provide. They record how a person understood the work, the choices behind it, and the community that surrounded it.
