A coastal prelude to Soirée Mystique
This editorial offers a first look at Akarshan Designs for Soirée Mystique, produced by Monique Zhang and Catwalk for Charitable Causes. Set where ocean and bay seem to merge, the photographs place Indian-inspired fashion in constant conversation with water, rock, and changing coastal light.
Models Kellie, Darlene, and Kathya wear saturated reds, floral prints, mirrorwork, and richly textured velvet, silk, chiffon, and brocade. Moving from cliffs to cave shade and the water’s edge, the images explore the flow of the sari and the movement of the lehenga rather than treating each garment as a static object.
Hair and makeup by Francoise Zhang completes the visual story. The larger event also carries a charitable purpose, supporting Miracle University and IANGEL while celebrating design, culture, and collaboration. That shared purpose gives the coastal preview a clear connection to the celebration it introduces.
