Recently, I began researching ophthalmologists in the New York Metropolitan area. I am over fifty and prefer to weigh all options when choosing an ophthalmologist rather than wait until the last moment or an emergency situation to decide upon a suitable cataract surgeon. That being said, one ophthalmologist outside of the New York Metropolitan area continued to resurface in my research. For this reason I began reading about Dr. Randal Pham of Silicon Valley.

Dr. Randal Pham was the first ophthalmologist in northern California to implant the AcrSof® IQ ReSTOR® multifocal intraocular lens, permitting patients to see near and far distances without the need of glasses. Dr. Randal Pham also established the Advanced Surgery Medical Center. It is the first training center for laser cataract refractive surgery in the Western United States using the Catalys® Precision Laser System from OptiMedica.
He also created Laser News Inc., a consumer-based site offering information on laser aesthetics and refractive surgeries. The center provides cutting edge information on laser surgery specialties to inform innovative procedures as they are approved and made available to the public. It is because of his many awards and honors that Dr. Randal Pham is well recognized both nationally and internationally. I want to mention just a few because after reading each article I feel they are important to share.
Dr. Randal Pham’s awards include the Best Clinical Science Award, the Stanford Provost Award and the Achievement Award given by the American Academy of Ophthalmology just to name a few. His honors include the Bay Area Best Doctors & Dentists given by NBC, the Silicon Valley’s Top Docs in San Jose Magazine, the Consumers Research Council of America presented by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Best Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon honored by the Plastic Surgery Practice Journal.
After much research and reading on ophthalmologists it is because of Dr. Randal Pham’s detailed and well-appointed online resources that I am now well informed. I want to thank Dr. Randal Pham for sharing with the public all of the knowledge he has learned throughout his years of experience in ophthalmology. It is because of Dr. Randal Pham’s openness with online venues that continue to make learning about cataract treatments so convenient. This is a good thing!
